Will Baylis

Will Baylis has more than 40 years’ experience in stockbroking and institutional funds management. He began his career as an Investment Analyst with National Mutual Life Association in 1985, before joining ANZ McCaughan Securities in 1987 as an institutional stockbroker. During this time, he spent three years in London and two years in New York advising institutional fund managers interested in Australian and New Zealand equity markets. In 1996, he joined Deutsche Bank Australia as Head of Institutional Sales based in Sydney and Melbourne.

In 2013, Will joined ClearBridge Investments as a Portfolio Manager, specialising in Sustainable Equities, Sustainable Income and Ethical Values with Income Strategies. He was responsible for ESG strategy within the Australian equities team, leading ethical values research and implementing client screens. His work also focused on modern slavery, workplace safety, and diversity on the boards and management teams of Australian and New Zealand companies.

Will’s commitment to responsible and sustainable investing stems from growing up on a farm in Western Victoria, where tree planting, biodiversity and conservation were central to his early years. He retired from full-time professional work in July 2026 and has a strong interest in working with nonprofit organisations. Outside this work, Will enjoys farming, aviation, golf and music. He is married with four children and two grandchildren.
